Here are the top financial books according to Amazon.

“This classic text is annotated to update Graham’s timeless wisdom for today’s market conditions…

The greatest investment advisor of the twentieth century, Benjamin Graham, taught and inspired people worldwide. Graham’s philosophy of “value investing” — which shields investors from substantial error and teaches them to develop long-term strategies — has made The Intelligent Investor the stock market bible ever since its original publication in 1949.”

2.

“The tsunami of cheap credit that rolled across the planet between 2002 and 2008 was more than a simple financial phenomenon: it was temptation, offering entire societies the chance to reveal aspects of their characters they could not normally afford to indulge.”

3.

“Whether you’re a complete investing novice or just confused about all the contradictory advice out there, A Beginner’s Guide to Investing is an accessible guide to growing your money the smart and easy way.”

Money in the New Market

What I call the “New Market”, is our handheld devices. You don’t even need to know how to code. There are plenty of apps that you can sign up for and start making money. You can even create a money making blog thru the WordPress app!

One of the apps i recently signed up for is Mercari. Its basically a simpler version of Ebay. I have a few listings i just put up and we’ll see how quickly I can sell them. I also revived a free $3 credit for listing my first item. I bought a couple basketball cards and I’m going to flip those in the app.

If you want to try it out and get a free $10 credit, sign up with this code [YCPSTV] at https://www.mercari.com/dl

Favorite Books: Total Money Makeover

Yeah I know it’s been a while, but you know how life gets. Its been a busy summer and I’ll update you guys in my next post about all the fun we’ve been having.

Today though I want to talk to you about books. One of the best hobbies you can have when wanting to reach your financial goals is reading. There are thousands of books out there willing to tell you how to get rich. So I know i won’t be short for reading material.

A book I just finished (for the 2nd time) is Dave Ramsey’s “The Total Money Makeover”. What I love about this book and Dave’s advice is how practical and easy it is. You don’t need a financial degree or financial advisors to be able to follow along. I just need to stay determined in my plan.

I definitely recommend this book to those struggling to get out of debt or looking to start a plan for financial success.

Recycling pays!

When I was younger, about Elementary to Jr. High age, living back in #California I started out making money for my baseball cards by recycling aluminum cans and plastic bottles.    I made 5 cents for each can or bottle. They had these reverse vending machines in front of the grocery store.  I would walk away with a 2 pockets full of nickels once a week to spend at the Spring Valley Swap Meet.

Later on i would go once a month to a recycling center and drop off bags of recyclables and would make about $60 each trip.

Now at the age of 35 I have started to pick up the recycling bug again. It’s a great way to get the kids out of the house and reward them with a treat after collecting our cash.  Also, it’s good for the environment.

Unfortunately, in Utah, we have to collect more because we only get 1.5 – 2 cents per can 😔. And there isn’t anywhere close by my home that buys plastic.

Today as I was cleaning out my garage, i decided to take 4 bags of Non-crushed cans to Bloom Recyclers.  The aluminum weighed 19 lbs, and at $0.49/lb, made me $9.31. Not much, but I really just wanted to make room I my garage so it’s not bad either.

Slow Start

So I’ve been pretty busy since the new year, but I have been able to do a few things. 1st I posted a video on youtube and have another one ready to post. Just trying to decide if I’m gonna put all my videos on the same YouTube channel or have multiple channels. Also I have cashed out on one of the apps i use, which I’ll have a video on soon. And finally, i cleaned out a desk to do all my blogging and some of my filming so that’s the most exciting of all.

Happy New Year!!!

Working nights has its pros, but also has it cons. Like working on #NYE2016. So while everyone else gets to party with friends, hang out with family, or fall asleep while watching Netflix…. I get to work a 12 hour shift.
But its not all bad it gives me time to think about the upcoming year and what it means to me.

2017 is the “Year of Me”, the Year i focus on my goals and all these little ideas I’ve had bouncing around in my head, finally come together.

My #NewYearsResolution is to build a strong foundation, so in the next few years after my goals will be easier to reach. Now i realize this won’t be easy, but with this blog, family, and friends, keeping me motivated, I am excited to see where this year takes me.

   Say goodbye to 2016 and take off with 2017! 🚀 🚀 🚀

Step 1

Now this post might not look like it’s about my finances, but this will be the backbone of my quest to $1 million.

Though I’m not extremely out of shape, I’ve definitely put on some extra baggage the last few years. So i am dedicating myself to become the healthiest I’ve been since my early 20’s. And I’m challenging you to do the same.

Because as well all know the healthier you are the more productive you’ll be. And the more productive you are the more financially successful you’ll become!

So remember fruits/veggies = 💰!!!

These are great for my core get yours today!

What is “The Millionaire Projekt”?

It’s my personal quest to hit my goal of $1 million dollars made (outside of my regular 9 to 5) by May 16, 2021. That is when I turn the big 4-0. I’ve always had a dream of being able to retire from full-time work by that age. Of course, even if I hit my goal, I will be doing something to make more money since doing nothing will get boring after a while, but I won’t have to work for “The Man” anymore.  This blog is your personal invitation to join me as I succeed and/or fail throughout the next few years. In future posts, I will be showing you the different ways I am trying to achieve my goal and the results. Wish Me Luck!

p.s. Hope you guys had a wonderful Christmas!
